Child Being Bullied? A Few Tips

Bullying can have emotional and physical consequences for your child. You certainly want to do all that you can to protect him or her from this. If your child is being bullied, there are a few things that you can do to help. Here are a few tips to that end.

Many parents have argued over how to handle their child being bullied. Fighting back is usually an option as far as fathers are concerned. Mothers usually don’t like this response at all.

You should know that telling your child to fight back can be a recipe for disaster as your child may end up getting hurt even worse. It may be a good idea for you to teach your kid how to defend himself, but merely for defensive reasons.

It’s also best that you advise your child to report any bullying incidents that he or she suffers. The principal, teacher, or counselor are all good options. You should also tell your child to tell you about any incidents.

Many parents blame the school for not protecting their children from bullying properly. It’s hard for schools to prevent all incidents though. To change what’s wrong, you will need to work with the school instead of blaming them.

Parents should also try to come up with a plan. Maybe one of you could volunteer to supervise at the school a few days a week.

It’s also best that you pay attention to your child’s friends. Having this information is even more important if bullying is a problem. You should communicate with the friend’s parents to see if there’s anything they can do to help.

You may even want your child to make new friends. Have your child invite a few new friends over to the house to play. Your child may even be able to make friends with new kids at the school.

Children who are bullied end up feeling very lonely. Lonely teens can easily become depressed. You can spot signs of depression if you’re paying close attention to your child. Having a depressed child is no good for the household and your marriage. It would be best for you and your partner to talk with your child on a regular basis.

Plenty of children in school end up getting bullied. It’s important that all incidents be reported. It’s usually not best to try to teach your child how to fight since this will increase the risk of him or her getting hurt. Doc No. 34Sdlhgsdl -sds
